Sorry
to bother you, but I have been using your page with helpful
references on rocks and minerals as a guide for my science class
(http://www.canadianminingnews.com/mininglinks.htm)
...It's a nice page; thanks for making it!
I thought I would send you an additional page you might want to
add. It's a great page for teaching kids about geology (igneous
rocks, sedimentary rocks, metamorphic rocks, minerals, etc...)
It's a gem:

My student's and I really liked the page - I hope you do too! -
Melissa West -Thank you so much and I am
glad that the page is helpful to you. I have added the new page
link as well. Editor |
I just want to take a few minutes to tell you that I recently
discovered your website by accident about 2 weeks ago. I found
it very well-done. It's unfortunate that it's not more
advertized. I consult it everyday since to check the latest
mining news in Canada. I wish you success with your website.
Sincerely, Simon, student in geology Thanks
Simon |
Madam, I would just like to say that your site is the best that I
have come across, very good news reporting and all the action
concerning the companies involved. - Neil Stubbs |
Thank you for all the work you have done to provide such a
valuable research site for investors. Please sign me up for your

Please add me to your newsletter...I just happened upon it. We are
retired and live in Pennsylvania. Just started to have a little
travel time and we love to go to Windsor and Niagra. Our inside
joke between my husband and I are to really retire and move to
Canada. Your site is very interesting and informative. There is
such a variety of subjects. Just thought I'd commend you on such a
fine job you perform in maintaining such an adverse variety of
interests. You are very thorough and informative.
I am surprised....I am impressed that you are a female involved in
such a manly topic....I worked in a steel mill for 20 years and
was also of the minority gender. I'm also pleased to see your
loving husband in behind and appreciative of your vast
accomplishments. Congrats on your award!! Should I also render my
husband, Ron, and I have invested a small "lump" in Fording
Coal...hope it pans out a little for us!! (I'm not sure of the
Canadian territories on map so I'm off to explore your
locale...Thanks again for your time and effort you put forth in
developing this site and newsletter.) Gloria Mills -
Thanks so much for the encouraging words -

What a great asset you and the Canadian Mining News website are to
the industry and to clueless people like me. I enjoyed tooling
around on the site a bit. I am impressed by the quantity/quality
of information, news and links available on the site. I could see
that the site earned the plaudits sent in by those leaving
messages in the “Comments” area.
With appreciation, Karen Carlson Thank
you so much - Always nice to hear that my work is appreciated. -

Hi Shirley
Minegate sees and reads through your site daily.
And since you linked to the Minegate, you often show up on the
Google main page after a search for Minegate. (Usually between
eight and fifteen). Google though is a fickle girl. Somedays the
Minegate is referenced 39,000 times. Other days, just 28,000. Keep
it up.

Thanks. Jim. What a nice compliment! |
Dear Shirley,
Recently I attended the PDAC in
Toronto and I didn't have anyway of getting any of the mining
releases or news.
Upon returning home, I was able to
depend on your site to bring up to speed on what was what.
Bless you, and your informable site. Keep up your hard work, it
is certainly appreciated!

appreciated for sure.

Good Afternoon Shirley
I have enjoyed your subscription service for some time now. I
recently changed to a cable internet service and find it much much
faster. I fact my daughter says things that used to take half an
hour to download, if you didn't get booted off in the meantime,
now take less than a minute. You have a well balanced program. I
am particularly interested in the Kirkland Lake-Matheson area as I
own several claims or have deals with a number of
mining companies in the area. Of particular interest are St.
Andrew Goldfields (SAS), Queenston (QMI), Kirkland Lake Gold (KLI)
a newly listed company Vault Minerals (VMI) and any of the other
companies operating or exploring in the area.
Keep up the good work
Regards

We are a mining company in Nigeria dealing in
Tantalite and the publications in your on-line newspaper titled "Little known Tantalum rare, but its future shines" by

Also useful to us is your 'Mineral and Metal' update section.
We hereby use this opportunity to notify you of our interest in your newspaper and soliciting the support
of your organization to introduce us to interested parties and buyer/dealers in Solid Minerals such as

Quite a bit of info on one page here. Nicely put together Big Hits site. I have one I'm working on with the same hosting company.
The colors conflict a little though and some of this could be spread to another page, just to give it a little more appeal.
Editor: Not a Big Hits Site but your comments are
appreciated. |
Pros: All the information you would ever need to know about mining. Detailed, updated daily, full contact information, resources, and
very focused. Editor: Thank you very
much. |
|
Cons: Home page is just too long - to a novice the information would appear overwhelming. In the left column the blue links on the red
background are very hard to read. Site index should be at or near the top of the page.
Editor: Thank you for your comments.
|
|
Unfortunately I couldn't get your site to load. I don't know what happened. Good Luck to you.
Editor: Maybe one of our servers was down , please try again |
Interesting site packed with information. As a person who has never looked at this subject, I found all of the information confusing,
but someone closer to the subject would probably enjoy this site. I
would recommend dividing up the information to create multiple pages
and a shorter home page. Pages could consist of new news, links, today's article, etc. Also, you may wish to consider changing the
red background in the left column to a more muted color. It is very
hard to read text on a red background.
Editor: Thank you for your suggestions. |
I liked it. I personally don't like a site that's one continuous page but that's just me. Lots of info, content and news.
Editor: Thanks for your comments. |
I liked this site a lot. Soon as the page came up on my browser the color was very eye catching. The site was very easy to read and
navigate. I liked all the information that was presented but thought
maybe it might be too much or cluttered as a first page. I really
liked the links available to the Stock Exchanges so you could check out you mining stocks and the Hot News articles. The use of graphics
was very effective. The only down side to the site was that the free
mousepad link wasn't working. Editor:
Thank you and I fixed that link |
I liked this site. It was up to date, course it is a news site.
I wish I had the drive to do this myself, just to keep up would be nice. Wonderful job, I like the style... keep up the good work.
Editor: It is very time consuming but I
enjoy it immensely. Thank you. |

By the way... interesting site.
Truthfully, I was surprised to find I was interested in mining,
lol! Must be the location - as I'm in the Sault.. not far
away at all, really. I've bookmarked the site - I'd like to
see how the "Ontario Stake Rush" turns out...
Les
Editor: Thanks, Les. Good luck to you too.

I have just started to read your web page and have noticed that the
largest percentage of news is of mining companies and news of Ontario. I would
like to see a larger base covered in order to cover Canada from ocean to ocean.
Canada needs to unite on all fronts to show unity in Canada. We need this
every where even in the mining news!
