THE SILENT STAKING RUSH -PART 3

by R.A Gilson- Canadian Mining News- May 25/01

The Silent Staking Rush Is Winding Down and the Johnny Come Latelys are moving in to salvage what they can! Shhhhhh That’s right Folks, the silent staking rush in Northern Ontario is winding down and almost over – almost ready to make it Public Information. Those that are not reading the Canadian Mining News are finding that the Johnny Come Latelys are paying a much higher price for ground in selected areas. In fact, some Juniors are going to other Juniors that have held ground in the areas of interest for years and working out new deals with them.

One example is Hucamp Mines Limited. They announced that they have signed an agreement with Sudbury Contact Mines Limited (a subsidiary of Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited) on its Temiskaming diamond properties in northeastern Ontario and northwestern Quebec. This property lies just north of the Cobalt-Haileybury-New Liskeard Tri-Town area where the 800 carat Nipissing Diamond was discovered in 1906 but received little fanfare.

But Outcrop Explorations has researched this diamond with the help of local MPP David Ramsey and believes the diamond was discovered in Lorrain Township where Father Paradis was stationed at Mission Point on Lake Temiskaming, where farming in the early years was well established.

Besides diamonds, we’re also hearing news of new PGM group discoveries across Ontario.

No, the Silent Staking Rush in Northern Ontario should burst its bubble by the end of May or within 2 weeks of June.
