THE SILENT STAKING RUSH shhhhh - PART TWO

by R.A. Gilson for Canadian Mining News - May 7, 2001

THE SILENT STAKING RUSH IS BLANKETING NORTHERN ONTARIO WITH CLAIM POSTS AND NEWS IS LEAKING OUT!

Somebody didn't shhhhh! Can Alaska ventures has announced that it has acquired a diamond property northwest of the Kapuskasing Structural zone in the Superior Craton of Northern Ontario. An additional 372 claims have been staked on behalf on the Company, expanding the total property area to 123 sq. km.

Already one 47.5 kg rock sample returned one large macro diamond measuring 1.64 by 1.55 by 0.62 mm.

This is only one of the first confirmations of our Silent Staking Rush and you read it here first! And you'll be reading a lot more from different companies in the Rush for Diamond and PGM Properties as their claims get staked and recorded with the Ontario Government. And by the end of May or early June, the other News Services will have figured it out and will be announcing that Northern Ontario's largest ever staking rush is underway. By that time, the Great Rush will be over and those not reading the Canadian Mining News will be scrambling for the leftovers.

That's the nature of a Staking rush. The general public hears about it AFTER it's already over and any Company not reading the Canadian Mining News will hear about it too late. To them, I say, get your priorities in order, read the Canadian Mining News everyday or you may lose your chance in a lifetime.

Outcrop Explorations Limited and Joint Venture Partner Cabo Mining Corp. have already announced 3 potential diamond discoveries in the famed old Cobalt Camp of Northeastern Ontario. Outcrop's subsidiary, Boston Creek Mines Limited has likewise announced a potential diamond discovery at Boston Creek, some 18 miles south of Kirkland Lake, Ontario. PrairieC has announced a potential diamond and pgm discovery in Lorrain Twp. just south of Cobalt, Ontario.

Davidson Tisdale Limited (YDD-CDNX) in the Timmins, Ontario area, has likewise been advised to re-examine the core from their last diamond drill program to see if they too may contain the potential for diamonds and/or PGM's or both.

Apparently Agnico-Eagle Mines, a long-time player in the Cobalt Camp, has received more than one offer to purchase their Cobalt holdings and I know Outcrop Explorations was one of the Companies to make an offer.

Barrick Resources are holding onto their Cobalt Camp ground to see what else Outcrop can pull out of its magic hat.

You've got to hand it to this little Company. Outcrop Explorations has been banging rocks in the Cobalt Camp since 1983 and turned down offers from local Companies and insisted on doing deals with out of Province Companies that could come into the Cobalt Camp with new ideals. Over the years, they've dealt with Rhonda Mining from Calgary, Branchwater from Calgary and now Cabo Mining Corp out of Vancouver, BC. Cabo's Engineers and Geologists have brought new blood to the Camp and it's working well. In addition to the typical silver-cobalt veins, the new group is discovering base metals, gold, diamonds and PGM potential.

I personally believe that this is the Last Great Staking Rush in Northern Ontario and I believe it will hold many surprises. Aside from diamonds and the PGM's, I believe some of these Companies will not find what they are looking for, and if they keep an open mind, may find base metals, tantalum and the list goes on. I think you'll see the Ontario Staking rush of the Century pull Canada out of the recession that critics predict we are heading for. VIVA Northern Ontario and it's mineral potential and may Northern Ontario once again stimulate the growth of Canadian Mining. KEEP MINING IN CANADA!
