SHE'S A LADY AND
DIAMONDS ARE THIS GIRL'S BEST FRIEND
By R.A. Gilson - Canadian Mining News - June 13, 2001
The famed old Cobalt
Camp has had many names since the discovery of silver in 1903:- THE
CRADLE OF CANADIAN MINING, THE SILVER CAPITAL OF CANADA, THE POOR
MAN'S MINING CAMP and the list goes on.
But today, on the eve
of it's l00th Birthday, the old Town earned a new name, and if
Diamonds are indeed a girl's best friend, you can call her a Lady!
Yes, Tom Jones, She's a Lady and maybe we'll bring you to Cobalt to
sing her praises for us in 2003!
Since 1983, Outcrop Explorations Limited with Head
Office in the Township of Coleman has been a driving force of
exploration in the Cobalt Camp. Since 1983, Outcrop has been one of
the largest land barrons in the Cobalt area with property acquisition
continuing on an almost daily basis.
Headed by a new breed of Prospector, Outcrop's
President and CEO, R.A. (Ron) Gilson and his troops developed totally
new concepts for the systematic prospecting and exploration of the
Cobalt Camp.
All the old theories were thrown out the door and
the Company refused to hire local Prospectors, Geologists and Mining
Engineers with preconceived ideas on the Cobalt Camp.
It's also interesting to note that R.A. Gilson is
the great nephew of Fred Larose, the blacksmith who helped found the
town in 1903 with his silver strike!
Since 1983, the Camp hasn't unlocked any new secrets
but that has helped us to get a handle on how the Cobalt Camp hides
it's secrets and that factor helped us discover the diamond potential
of the Cobalt Camp.
Instead of using the front door like so many
exporationists before us, we came through the back door and low and
behold, the mysteries began to unravel!
The Cobalt Camp is quite unique in having so many
geological formations from as many different geological time zones.
The silver-cobalt disposition that put the Cobalt Camp on the map is
from one of the youngest rock formations in the area, with the new
diamond discovery potential coming from the oldest rocks in the
region. Still, another rock formation with a different age hosts the
vast basemetal potential of the region that has brought many good
Prospectors, Geologists and Mining Engineers to tears. It's here, it's
there...but where is it?
Well, after spending 18 years working out the
problems and finding the solutions, Outcrop is not about to give up
any more secrets. We've clued you in, the rest is up to you or stand
back and do nothing and watch Outcrop bring these properties into
production, one mine at a time!
Outcrop Explorations Limited is a non-reporting
issuer and is controlled by the Gilson Family, Relatives and Friends
who have contributed funds for this project since 1983.
Outcrop Explorations Limited controls Boston Creek
Mines Limited and Consolidated Professor Mines Limited with both
subsidaries active in their own areas of interest, including the
Cobalt Camp.
Today the rush is on to bring Cobalt's first diamond
mine into production! Any bets on who it will be? Outcrop is betting
there will be a diamond mine in production by 2003 but will say
no more! 2003 is Cobalt's l00th Anniversary. Interesting!!!
Until next time.....
