Due to an overwhelming demand for information pertaining to Guaranty Trust of Canada, below please find information that has been provided to us regarding this company. The information below is believed to be accurate.
Guaranty Trust of Canada was merged with Central Trust to form Central Guaranty Trust. In 1992 Central Guaranty Trust collapsed and most of their assets were purchased by the Toronto Dominion Bank. Toronto Dominion Bank then merged with Canada Trust to form TD Canada Trust. TD Waterhouse is the department that takes care of stocks.

This is what I have:
An original certificate, with the corporate seal of GRACE LAKE GOLD MINES, LTD. It certifies my grandfather as owner of Four Hundred and Seven....Fully Paid Shares of Common Stock without Nominal or Par Value in Grace Lake Gold Mines, Limited.
Interesting: it's signed and dated Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 1928. Officers at that time were Pres. Wm. Busch and Secy. & Treas., A.E.Costello.
Included : a letter on Grace Lake Gold Mines, Ltd. letterhead to my grandfather. The letter is dated New Year's Eve, Dec 31, 1928 . It reads:

Executive Office Post Office Bldng. Englehart, Ont.
312 Walbridge Bldng. Spooner, WI Canada
Buffalo, N.Y.
"Dear Sir:-
Enclosed find certificate #----- for 407 shares in the Grace Lake Gold Mines, Ltd., in full payment of a mortgage note held by you against the Wisconsin Skead Mines, Ltd.,as per receipt previously mailed to you.
Please return receipt on loan of mortgage note to this office for cancellation.
Thanking you for your interest in our welfare, we are
